Igor brings 26 years of clinical experience in the field of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy overseas and in New Zealand where he has worked for the last 14 years. Originally from Germany, after his long practice as a Specialist Psychiatrist in Germany and Switzerland he has worked as Consultant Psychiatrist for TDHB, WDHB and as Lead Clinician at Cornwall House Community Mental Health Centre in Greenlane Clinical Centre ADHB. He is also a Senior Honorary Lecturer at the Auckland University Medical School and in the RANZCP Postgradual training for Psychiatry in the Auckland Region.

One of the main fields of Igor’s expertise is community based assessment and treatment of ADHD. As a member of World Federation of ADHD and in close collaboration with Clinical Psychologist Melanie Prinsloo at Thrive Psychology Centre Ltd, his emphasis is to provide, in accordance to the latest international research, state of the art clinical, psychiatric and test psychological assessment and treatment of ADHD. This includes indication and application of medication treatment as well as clinical follow up and treatment maintenance at Thrive Psychiatry. For patients wishing clinical follow up and treatment under their registered GP’s a close collaboration and support for the GP colleagues is provided including applications for initial and renewal of Special Authority for the ADHD medication in accordance with the guidelines of the NZ Ministry of Health.
Igor is also offering assessment and treatment of Depressive Disorders, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders, PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder) and other psychological trauma related disorders. This includes clinical and test psychological assessment as well as initial medication treatment, assisting with adjustment of the previously prescribed medications and clinical follow up at Thrive Psychiatry.
Psychoanalytical and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy is an important part of Igor’s clinical work. Coming from post gradual academic program in Germany and Switzerland, following specifically Frankfurt School of Psychotherapy Igor is offering Psychodynamic and Transference Focussed Psychotherapy. This School of Psychotherapy focusses on understanding, identifying and integrating of unresolved psychological conflicts which can significantly impair quality of life.

Jude Rippon is the Practice Manger at Thrive Psychiatry. She has worked in the field of mental health for over 10 years and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the team. Jude is NZ born and bred. As a family orientated person, she is acutely aware of how one's mental health may impact not only on oneself, but also family members. Jude feels strongly that consulting with the right person can make a huge difference towards improving and maintaining one's mental health.
